Authorities investigate tractor theft

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the reported theft of a Kubota tractor between Thursday, March 23 and Sunday, March 26 from a private camp location in the Little Springs Road area near Smithdale.

Sheriff Tom Tindle said the tractor — identified as a model L3940 HST-1 — was taken from the location while the owner was out of town.

The 2020 model orange tractor had a similarly colored model L-4724 bucket on the front along with a six-foot box blade attached to the rear.

“We’re seeking the public’s help, especially anyone who might have seen this particular tractor or have pertinent information that can help us resolve this,” Tindle noted. “A reward is being offered for an arrest and conviction in the case.”
