Spring 'Shop the Block' event set Saturday, April 1 in Bude

by Sean Dunlap

The “Shop the Block” event is set to return to downtown Bude from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 1 — weather permitting.

Franklin County Baptist Association Director Wes Arnold and Kristie Jones are once again spearheading the outdoor shopping and entertainment extravaganza.

Previous “Shop the Block” gatherings have featured multiple food and craft vendors as well as activities for the entire family.

The gathering is slated to take place in the vacant lot between Home Hardware Center and Bude Town Hall with ample parking along Main Street and Railroad Avenue.

Jones said vendors, including those who want to host a garage sale on site, can participate at no cost with spaces available on a first come-first served basis.

Set-up begins at 8 a.m., with all vendors encouraged to be open by 9 a.m.

Additionally, the Bude Thrift Store — a ministry of the Baptist Association — will be open with its $5 “Bargain Bags” promotion as well as clearance items.
