Graveside funeral services for A.J. Emfinger, 92, of Meadville, were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Franklin County’s Midway Cemetery with the Rev. Millard Moak officiating.

Visitation was held at 2 p.m., Sunday at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

He was born to Dee and Ethel Ezell Emfinger on Jan. 31, 1931, in Franklin County, and passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Emfinger enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as collecting antiques.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elsie Pearl Newell Emfinger; his sister, Christine Vaughn; and his brother, Curtis Emfinger.

Survivors include his daughters, Katherine Prospere and Deborah Roberts; his son, James Barry Emfinger; his brother, Billy Ray Emfinger; his four grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; and a host of family members and friends.

Pallbearers were members of his family.

The family request memorials be made in Mr. Emfinger’s name to Midway Cemetery.
