May 23, 1936 - Feb. 11, 2023
Ernestine “Dot” Dorris Sellars, 86, of Erin, Tenn., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at Houston County Community Hospital.
Dot entered this life as the daughter of Lenox Eugene Dillon and Daisy Davis Dillon-Bodiford on May 23, 1936, in Franklin County near the McCall Creek community.
She married the love of her life, Charles Edward Sellars, at the young age of 15, and was his faithful wife for the next 58 years.
With Charles, who was a career military man, she traveled the world while raising her babies.
Dot had a servant’s heart, and — after raising her children — worked a few different jobs.
Notably, she worked in the Florida Keys as a bridge tender and also managed real estate.
Her passions in life included crocheting, sewing and playing the casinos.
She also loved to fly, and, even after death, was able to have two more flights on her way back home to Mississippi.
She loved the Lord and attended the West Tennessee Association of Primitive Baptist.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband; Angel Baby Sellars; her son, Charles Edward Sellars Jr.; her daughter, Wantina Lee Adams; her brother, Joseph Edward Dillon; her half-sisters, Carolyn Dillon and Margaret Dillon; and her special friend, Ronald Smith.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, LaDorne Ann Borrego and her husband, Robert; her son-in-law, Scott Adams; her grandchildren, Jennifer Burry, Ricky Pratt Jr., Brandi Kyzar, Kristi Chapman, Joseph Sellars, Amanda Sellars, Kaelin Sellars and Raymond Borrego; and many great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service was held in Bude, with burial taking place in the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Nave Funeral Home of Tennessee and Marshall Funeral Homes of Bude, Natchez and Brookhaven were in charge of arrangements.
