Funeral services for Barbara Smith, 72, of Roxie, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville with the Rev. James Hunsucker officiating.

Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery in Roxie.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, and from 9 a.m., until the time of service on Thursday, Feb. 9 at the funeral home.

She was born to Mr. Lee C. Roney and Mrs. Minnie Price Roney on Dec. 16, 1950, and passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at her residence.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Glenda Yates; and her brothers, Lavell Roney, Albert Roney, Allan Roney, Joe Roney and Richard Roney.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Thomas J. “T.J.” Smith; her sons, Gregory Smith and his wife, Mamie, Michael Smith and his wife, Kristy, and Anthony Smith and his wife, Michelle; her sisters, Martha Pitts, Judy Patrick and Diane Overstreet; and her grandchildren, Joshua, Aden, Madison, Dakota, Alyssa, Leslie, David Lee, Hunter and Annabelle.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Smith, Aden Smith, Dakota Smith, David Lee Smith, Hunter Smith and Ramsey Brown.

Honorary pallbearer is Kyle Oswalt.
