Clifton Earl Rushing

Graveside funeral services for Clifton Earl Rushing, 82, of Union Church, were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023, at the Union Church Cemetery with Brother Billy Joe Deer officiating.

He was born to Claude and Ola Mae Rushing on April 27, 1940, in Newellton, La., and passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Jo Alice Segrest Rushing; his sisters, Mamie Lee Morgan and Lucille Du’Conge; and his brothers, Hubert Rushing, Robert Frank Rushing, Melvin Rushing and John Rushing.

Survivors include his sons, Jeff Rushing (Evelyn), Clifton Rushing Jr. (Donna), Kevin Rushing (Belinda), and Victor Rushing; his sisters, Mary Katherine Michaelson and Patsy Adkerson; his brother, James E. “Ed” Rushing; his 10 grandchildren; his 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
