Funeral services for Percy Cameron Sr., 87, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roxie.

Interment was in the Zion Cemetery.

He was born to Fletcher and Rosie Bosley Cameron on May 13, 1935, in Meadville.

Mr. Cameron was baptized at an early age and attended Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where he served until his death on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.

He was inducted into the Mississippi Ancestry Board as a “Bosley Legacy Member” in 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Mae Cameron; his four sisters, Alvia, Georgia Mae, Velma and Rosell; his brother, Willie Ray Cameron; and his three granddaughters, Carmen Briggs, Ashley Cameron and Dianah Barnes.

Survivors include his seven children, Gloria Hayes, Phyllis Cameron, Percy Cameron Jr., and Gary Cameron of Roxie, Doretha Fleming of McCall Creek, Debbie Briggs of Kennesaw, Ga., and Aubrey Cameron of Montgomery, Ala.; his 18 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Collins Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
