Funeral services for Beatrice Jones, 78, of McCall Creek, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Meadville with Brother Lance Moak officiating.

Interment was in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m., until the time of service on Friday, Jan. 13 at the church.

She was born to Inez Scroggs on April 22, 1944, in New Orleans, La., and was raised by her grandmother, Joddie Scroggs, with great love. She passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at her daughter’s home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman R. Jones Sr.

Survivors include her children, Joddie J. Spring (Harold) of Meadville and Norman R. Jones Jr., (Ronnie) of Summit; her four grandchildren, Clark R. Jones (Bonnie), Deidra J. Lofton (Josh), Jo Bea S. Magee (Matt) and Madge S. Walker (Justin); and her great-grandchildren, Sadie Coley, Penelope Walker, Kelly Ann Lofton, Grayson, Kirby and soon to be baby girl Jones.

Mrs. Bea, as she was affectionately known, also had a close sister-aunt, Betty Joe Carraway. The two were raised together and had a close bond throughout their lives.
