Funeral services for Mr. William C. “W.C.” Johnson, 95, of Brookhaven and a long-time resident of Roxie, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville with the Rev. Charlie Seale officiating.

Interment will follow in the Roxie City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, and from 10 a.m., until the time of service on Thursday, Dec. 9 at Franklin Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was born to Bryan Johnson and Eunice Davidson Johnson on April 6, 1926, in Wilkinson County. He passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at his residence in Brookhaven.
He served his country during World War II in Guam in the United States Navy Seabees as a LTJG.

He was past master of the S.B. Stampley Lodge in Roxie and worked for many years as a timber dealer serving the wood industry in Franklin County.

He never met a stranger and loved to spend time with his many friends.

He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Jean Johnson; his sister, Norma Lynn; and his brother, Bryan Leston.

Survivors include his sons, Cooper Johnson and wife Marilyn of Martin, Tenn., and William “Willam” Johnson and wife Brenda of Coushatta, La.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Greg Farr, Jamie Cummins, Keith Whitehead, David Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Lee Johnson, Bryan Johnson and Eddie Walker.

Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Combs, Lavon Combs, DeVere Davis and Master Chief Ford Mason, U.S. Navy (retired).
