Funeral services for Carolyn Sue McCaa, 75, of Meadville, were held at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Franklin County’s New Hope Baptist Church with Brother Calvin Wactor officiating.
Interment was in the Wallace Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m., until the time of service at the church.
She was born to James Winfield McFarland Sr. and Mary Jane Wallace McFarland on Oct. 28, 1947, in Natchez.
She passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. McCaa loved working in her yard and had every yard animal imaginable. She loved decorating her yard for every season and collected all types of trinkets and knick-knacks.
The number one thing she collected was photographs. When anyone walked into her house, he or she could tell the love for her family and friends by all the photographs displayed. It was not uncommon for her to ask for photographs.
She was a homemaker for the majority of her life, a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, J.W. McFarland and Carroll McFarland; and her sister, Anna Faye Middleton.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Curtis McCaa; her sons, Billy Terrell Jr., and his wife, Rhonda, and Donny Terrell and his wife, Stephanie; her grandchildren, Zane Terrell and his wife, Brittany, Zoe Terrell, Skylar Terrell, Tripp Terrell and Ella Smith; her great-granddaughter, Ali Terrell; her sister, Bessie Mae Froust; her brother, Leroy McFarland; her mother-in-law, Essie McCaa; her sister-in-law, Theresa Cothren and her husband, Rex; her brother-in-law, Andy McCaa and his wife, Stephanie, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Pallbearers were Bubba Boggs, Chris Clements, Rex Cothren, Andy McCaa, Buster Middleton and Wes Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were Zane Terrell and Tripp Terrell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. McCaa’s name can be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 699 Ezell Lane, Meadville, MS 39653 or to the Wallace Cemetery Fund, 985 Mount Olive Cemetery Lane NW, Roxie, MS 39661.
