Funeral services for Buford Davis, 84, of Meadville were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville with the Rev. Toby Jones officiating.

Interment was in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, and from 10 a.m., until the time of service on Monday, Oct. 31 at the funeral home.

He was born to Alvie and Clara Nordan Davis in McCall Creek on Sept. 3, 1938, and passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital.

He retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co., after 29 years, and was a member of Meadville Baptist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening as well as cattle farming and carpentry.

He took pride in caring for his family, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Rudolph Davis, Billy Ray Davis, William Davis and Leo Davis; and his sisters, Geneva Harrigill and Clara Jean Johnston.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Patsy Davis; his son, Mark Louis Davis and his wife, Jill, of Meadville; his daughter, Vicky Davis Jordan and her husband, Jack, of Smithdale; his sister, LaWanda Davis Newman and her husband, James, of Smithdale; his grandchildren, Colton Davis, Zane Davis (Caylee Grace), Jacob Jordan (Ally) and Liza Jordan; his great-granddaughter, Avah Mae Davis; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers were Paul Malone, Ricky Johnston, Jamie Newman, Stanley Wallace, Tom Tindle and Jacob Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers were Michael Davis, Colton Davis and Zane Davis.
