Missing Fayette man's body found near Hamburg

The body of a missing 35-year-old Fayette man was found on Wednesday, Oct. 19 off a section of Mississippi Highway 33 North near Franklin County’s Hamburg community.
Cpl. Craig James, who serves as the Mississippi Highway Patrol’s Troop M public affairs officer, said Lenelle Snyder’s 2020 Dodge Challenger appears to have been traveling north on the road stretching between Fayette to Roxie when it left the highway and struck a tree.
“Mr. Snyder had been reported missing early in September by authorities in Jefferson County,” James noted in a written statement.
“The vehicle was discovered around 9:30 a.m., last Wednesday morning. The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.”
James indicated Snyder received fatal injuries from the one-vehicle crash with the victim’s remains recovered by authorities a short time after the accident scene was located.
The victim’s family reported him missing with his girlfriend telling authorities that Snyder was possibly going to Natchez that last time anyone spoke to him with subsequent calls to check on his whereabouts going to voicemail.
The Fayette Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department had put out a missing person’s report on Snyder and his gray Challenger alerting authorities across the region and state to be on the lookout for the man and his vehicle.
