Funeral services for George Gibson, 36, of Roxie, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin County’s Kirby community with Pastor Mary Hamberlin officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at the Lighthouse Center in Meadville and from 1 p.m., until the time of service on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the church.

Affectionately known as “Pooh,” he was born to George and Julie Smith in Natchez on Aug. 16, 1986, and passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Putman and JoAnn Smith, and Lee and Idella Gibson; and his god-brothers, Willie “Picka” King and Ray Brown.

Survivors include his parents; his daughter, Haley Allison Gibson; his brothers, David (Yolanda) Gibson and Alladin (Stacey) Smith; his fiancé, Gabrielle Knight; his CD brothers, Roy and Josh O’Neal; his god-sisters: Karen O’Neal, Jacqueline Victor, Fredrica Mitchell, Kim Brown, Alicia Brown, Yasmine Hunt and Victoria Gibson; his god-brother, Miles Barnes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
