Funeral services for Clara Ethel Hunt, 83, of Roxie, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin County’s Kirby community with the Rev. Luther Bonds Jr., officiating.

Interment was in the Hunt Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at the Lighthouse Center in Meadville and from 10 a.m., until the time of service on Friday, Oct. 7 at the church.

She was born to James Wilson Sr., and Luberta Wade Wilson on Aug. 23, 1939, in Roxie, and passed away in Hattiesburg on Monday, Oct. 3, 2022.

Affectionately known as “Muh,” she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Julius Ray Burnett; her grandson, Michael Allen; her three sisters, Ammie Grimes, Rothana Evans and Pinkie Hunt; and her brother, James Wilson Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Hollis Hunt Sr.; her two daughters, Cassandra Allen and Vanessa Hunt; her two sons, Ronald Hunt and Hollis Hunt Jr., and his wife, Tracy; her four sisters, Willie Lee Davis, Ruby Hampton, Louise Sims and Rowena Leggins; her brother, Woodrow Wilson and his wife, Minnie Pearl; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her best friend, Dorothy “Dot” Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
