Graveside funeral services for Betty Jean Neely, 90, of Natchez, were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at Elmo Baptist Church Cemetery in Roxie (Jefferson County).

She was born to Alfred James Williams and Ruby Lee Darsey Williams in Natchez on July 10, 1932, and passed away on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at Merit Health Natchez.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. Neely Sr.; her son, Michael Wayne Neely; her grandson, James E. Neely III; and her great-grandson, Jessie Neely.

Survivors include her children, James E. Neely Jr., and his wife, Sheryl, William A. Neely and his wife, Lorri, and Debbie Ward and her husband, Danny; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
