HHC hosts 'Ducks' fund-raiser on Oct. 21

The Homochitto Heritage Club’s annual “Ducks on the Homochitto” fund-raising event will take place at 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21.

Tickets are being sold now through Thursday, Oct. 20 for $3 each.

Those tickets entitle participants to the chance to win door prizes if their duck is chosen.

“We try to have at least 75 to 100 door prizes,” Connie Johnston, who serves as president of the local women’s club said.

“Winners will be contacted and we will also post them on our Homochitto Heritage Club Facebook page.”

In addition, the club is selling T-shirts that help commemorate the event with short sleeves available for $25 and long sleeves for $28.

There is an additional $2 charge for shirts that are 2XL or larger.

Proceeds from the popular fund-raiser provide educational scholarships and held fund community service projects taken on by the club throughout the year.
