Funeral services for Mable Evans, 83, of Meadville, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at Elmo Baptist Church in Fayette with the Rev. James Hunsucker officiating.

Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Natchez.

Visitation was held from 9 a.m., until the time of service on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the church.

She was born to William and Georgia McCloud Tarver in Wesson on Feb. 22, 1939, and passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, at Meadville Convalescent Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie Jack Johnson; her husband, Carl “Corky” Evans; her son, Wayne Johnson; her sisters, Bonnie Tarver Nations and Dorothy Tarver Temple; and her brothers, J.C. Tarver, James Tarver, Marvin Tarver and William “Dub” Tarver.
