Graveside funeral service for Dannita Sue Ford, 71, of Nederland, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at the First United Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Bude.
She was born to Daniel Marcus and Dolly Hemphill on Nov. 28, 1950, in West Monroe, La., and joined her beloved husband, Floyd Daniel Ford, and her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Dannita hailed from Bude and was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Bude. After moving to Nederland, she would often visit her church back home.
She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother, and was immensely dedicated to her family and faith. Dannita was always a positive person with an upbeat personality.
She loved life and enjoyed working on jig-saw puzzles and singing. Dannita also had a love for butterflies.
She was preceded in death by her father; her spouse; and her grandson, Brady Ford.
Survivors include her daughters, Kimberly Ford of Nederland, Texas, and Danielle Tompkins and her husband, Rick, of Roatán, Honduras, along with their children, Isabella and David, and Angela Barnett and her husband, Bruce; her son, Dan Ford and his wife, Jennifer, of Mississippi; her mother, Dollie Hemphill of Bude; her sister, Donna Brister and her husband, Olen, of Bude; and her niece and nephew, Rebecca Brister and Adam Brister of Bude.
