Funeral services for William Dewitt Bilbo, 92, of Meadville, were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at Siloam Baptist Church in Franklin County with the Rev. Leon Wallace officiating.

Interment was in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service on Monday, Sept. 12 at the church.

Mr. Bilbo, an International Paper Co., retiree and deacon at Siloam Baptist Church, was born to Jewel A. and Ruth Cothren Bilbo on Dec. 12, 1929, in Meadville, and passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Collins State Veterans Home.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Janis Bilbo; and his sisters, Annie Ruth Dillard and Mildred Whittington.

Survivors include his son, Lynn Bilbo and his wife, Sandra, of Brandon; his brother, M.D. Bilbo and his wife, Mitti, of Lucien; his granddaughter, Nicolle McGarrity and her husband, Billy, of Oxford; his grandson, Mike Bilbo of Vicksburg; his great-grandchildren, Emma and Callie McGarrity; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers were Mike Bilbo, John Dillard, Paul Malone, Dalton Emfinger, Walton Speed, Chris Jordon, Roger Causey and Floyd Netterville.

Honorary pallbearers were Barry Dillard, Percy Peeler, Riley Temple and Randy Dillon.

The family requests memorials be made in William Dewitt Bilbo’s name to Baptist Children’s Village at The Baptist Children’s Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060-0027.
