'Shop the Block' set Sept. 10 in Bude

The popular “Shop the Block” outdoor event is set to return to downtown Bude from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, according to organizer Wes Arnold.
“This event seeks to draw people along with churches and community organizations from throughout the area to display and sell handcrafted items, one-of-a-kind gift items along with food and drinks,” Arnold, who serves as director of the Franklin County Baptist Association, said.
“Shop the Block has been very successful in terms of getting people to come out to support the community in a family-friendly atmosphere, and we want that to continue.”
As always, the gathering will take place in the vacant lot across from Home Hardware Center at the corner of Main Street and Railroad Avenue.
In addition, the Baptist Association’s Bude Thrift Store on Main Street will be holding its “Bargain Bags” promotion during the event with specials throughout the store.
Proceeds from the store assist the Baptist Association with its local food ministry, which helps Franklin Countians in need throughout the year.
