Wildlife and Outdoor Expo set this weekend in Brookhaven
BROOKHAVEN — The Lincoln County Wildlife and Outdoor Expo will be held with family-friendly activities scheduled throughout the weekend.
Activities are slated to begin Thursday, Aug. 18 with the Lincoln County Wildlife Expo and Southwest Mississippi National Deer Association Branch’s “Gun Bash.”
Doors will open at 6 p.m. for this event at the Brookhaven Building, which is located at 1154 Belt Line Drive Northeast.

The two-day expo is slated for 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 19 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Lincoln Civic Center, which is located at 1096 Belt Line Drive Northeast in Brookhaven.
Admission to the expo is $8 for adults (ages 13 and up); $5 for children between the ages of 7 and 12; and no cost for youth ages 6 and under.
Planned activities include performance dog shows, pig-catching events and a jump zone and activities for children.
In addition, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science will host educational demonstrations, baby alligators will be on display and Andi Lehman, also known as “The Snake Lady,” will make an appearance.
Other attractions include laser tag in the stall barn, hand-grabbing tanks, an AIMS — Archery In Mississippi Schools — bow shoot and a logging equipment showcase.
On Saturday, a chicken and ribs cookoff will be held and cash prizes will be awarded to winning participants.
Some of the expo’s main attractions will be the wide range of displays involving hunting and fishing gear and equipment along with trucks, boats, ATVs and other outdoor accessories.
