JONATHAN "DUKE" CARRAWAY
Aug. 7, 1973-Sept. 12, 2026
Funeral services for Jonathan "Duke" Carraway, 53, of Smithdale, weere 
conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026 from New Salem Baptist Church in 
Liberty, with Rev. Larry Wicker officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Born in McComb on Aug. 7, 1973, he was the son of Judy Thornton Bond 
(Bobby) and the late Jackie Carraway (Regina).
A long-time Carpenter, he specialized in remodeling but loved building 
custom cabinets the best. His uncle, Burnette Carraway, and dad, Jackie, 
taught him everything they knew. Carraway was a member or New Salem 
Baptist Church.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, digging for crystals in Arkansas, 
building and remodeling houses and spending time with his wife and boys.
He also enjoyed being a Franklin County 4-H Rifle Instruction and 
teaching youth safety. He enjoyed working with the youth.
Duke was a wonderful, loving husband and father who spoiled his 
Yorkiepoo, Max. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him.
He died on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 at his residence.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Thornton Bond (Bobby) and stepmother, 
Regina Carraway; his loving wife of 30 years, Traci Reynolds Carraway; 
two very special sons who meant the world to him, Christopher Carraway 
and his bride to be, Alana Case, and Jamie Carraway; three brothers and 
two sisters-in-law, Jeremy and Jerri Carraway, Will Reedy and Donald and 
Michelle Bond; and his sister, Bekki Bond.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Carraway.
Pallbearers were Blake Carraway, Brian Carraway, Jason Edwards, Demond 
Franklin, Chris Taylor, Steve Weber and Maxie Vines.
