DAVID VINCENT BERKLEY

April 22, 1953-July 29, 2026

A memorial service for David Vincent Berkley, 73, of Bude, were 
conducted on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026 from the Chapel of Franklin Funeral 
Home, with Pastor Gary Robinson officiating.

Born on April 22, 1953 in Brookhaven to Raymond L. "Ray" and Sarah 
Atkins "Sally" Berkley, he was a retired Self-Employed Certified 
Appraiser, Real Estate Agent and Owner of Ranbow Real Estate. He was a 
member of the Meadville Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed hunting, kayaking and hiking, and he was famous for his 
smoked hamburgers. He loved spending time with his family, especially 
his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He died on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at East Jefferson Hospital in 
Metairie, La.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kim Little Berkley of Bude; his 
daughters and son-in-law, Sarah Berkley of Bude and Haley and Caleb 
Peterson of Carriere; a son a daughter-in-law, Blaze and Anna Berkley of 
Bude; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann Peeples and Ken Posey of 
Meadville and Kay Kay and Dalton Travis of Brookhaven; his 
grandchildren, Layla Jackson, Elijah Malone, Josiah and James Peterson 
and Jason and Taylor Rose Berkley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Sally Berkley; and his 
brother, Raymond L. "Reb" Berkley II.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 
or Hope Lodge, 2609 River Rd., New Orleans, LA 70121.

JOYCE "GAIL" TWINER

June 19, 1952-Aug. 6, 2026

Graveside services for Joyce "Gail" Twiner, 74, of Brookhaven, were 
conducted on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026 from Bunkley Baptist Church Cemetery 
in Meadville.

Born to A.J. and Maxine Cloye Twiner on June 19, 1952 in Meadville, she 
was a "people person." She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to 
anyone that she did meet. She was a hard worker who loved the outdoors, 
especially gardening, and put time and effort into growing beautiful 
flowers.

Gail believed in keeping a clean house and taught her children to do the 
same. Most of all, she shared her love with her family and friends and 
will be greatly missed by each one of them.

She died on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sonya and Kevin King 
and Shanna and Jeff Wilson; her grandchildren and their respective 
spouses, Logan and Stephanine King, Tori King, Savanna and Tucker 
Whittington, Makenzie and Savanna Morgan, Summer Mulkey, Kyle and Shelby 
Morgan, Hunter and Rachel Wilson, Sarabeth and Taylor Smith, Sophie and 
Austin Burris and Hillary and Blake Moore; her great-grandchildren, Kali 
Herring, Conner Rakes, Emma Rakes, Zoey King, Lilli Morgan, Everett 
Whittington, Emmett Whittington, Jaxon Green, Oliver Morgan, Rhett and 
Loretta Wilson and Tinsley Smith; her great-great-grandchild, Kasen 
Ferrell; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Joe Bowman and Patricia 
and Terry Griffin; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and 
friends.

The family would like to extend its thanks to Arden Hospice and Trend 
Health and Rehab, with a special thanks for Carlie Jo at Arden and Skila 
and Shadena at Trend.

DAVID EARL COVINGTON

June 18, 1940-Aug. 4, 2026

Funeral services for David Earl Covington, 86, of McCall Creek, were 
conducted on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026 from the Chapel of Franklin Funeral 
Home, with Rev. Calvin Wactor officiating.

Interment followed at Wallace-Lee Cemetery in Meadville.

Born on June 18, 1940 in Brookhaven to Earl Covington and Etta Mae 
Delaughter Covington, he enjoyed the outdoors and watching westerns. He 
was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He proudly served our country as part of the United States Army. He 
served with the 1st Battle Group, 155th Infantry Regiment and was 
mobilized in September of 1962 for the Ole Miss Riots in Oxford.

He was a loving husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He died on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026 at Asbury Hospice in Hattiesburg.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Charles Davis and Terry 
Ann Covington and James Odell Covington; his grandchild and her spouse, 
Carlie Elizabeth and Kyle Cameron; his great-grandchildren, Joseph Davis 
Cameron, Anna Kate Elizabeth Cameron and Jameson Perry Cameron; and a 
host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Charlene Wallace 
Covington; his brothers, Claude Covington and Stevie Ray Covington; his 
mother-in-law, Nobie Marie Wallace; and his father-in-law, Charles Alvie 
Charles Alvie Wallace.

Pallbearers were Joseph Davis Cameron, Jake Winston, Colby Beach, Kolby 
Byrd, Tony Applewhite and Greg Waldon.
