JAMES "JIMMY" MORRISON ACHORD

A Celebration of Life service for James "Jimmy" Morrison Achord, 85, of 
Meadville, will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.on Saturday, May 2, 
2026 from Satsuma Baptist Church, 29880 S. Satsuma Rd., Livingston, LA 
70754.
Flowers may be sent to the church between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10:30 
a.m. on Saturday, May 2.
Born on Feb. 20, 1941 to Wilson, Sr., and Zadie Harris Achord, he was a 
native of Walker, La., and a resident of Meadville.
He never knew a stranger, was known for his strong will and 
determination and he knew he could conquer anything you said was too 
difficult just to prove you wrong.
He always installed confidence and courage in others. He was an avid 
fisherman throughout his life, a member participant in many local, state 
and regional bass tournaments and he loved the outdoors.
He retired as an Electrician and member of Local 995.
He died on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026.
He is survived by his sister, Janis Maxwell of New Jersey; his daughters 
and sons-in-law, Donna and Brandon Holy, Tammy and Mike Cowart, Kimberly 
Achord and Laura Achord; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, eight 
great-great-gradchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beth; his daughter, Stacy 
Blanchard; his grandsons, Blake Morrow and Evan Blanchard; his parents, 
Zadie and Wilson Achord, Sr.; his brothers, Sonny Boy and Red Achord; 
and his sisters, Margie McClure, Stella Sutcliffee and Nina Achord.
