FREE CONTENT — Burn Ban in effect across county

Franklin County's Board of Supervisors and the Mississippi Forestry Commission have issued a county-wide burn ban in effect until March 24.

No burning can take place from residents during the ban. The only groups exempted from the ban for officials with the Mississippi Forestry Commission and certified burn managers.

The ban was approved due to dry conditions that have persisted in the area. The ban as it stands now is set to expire at midnight on March 24.
