NELLIE JOYCE SMITH SPRING

Funeral services for Nellie Joyce Smith Spring, 95, of Smithdale, were 
conducted on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026 from Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with 
Brother Eric Moak officiating.
Interment followed at the church cemetery.
Born at her family home on Dec. 6, 1930 in Smithdale to the late Jack S. 
and Ethel T. Smith, she was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Baptist 
Church, where she worked faithfully in different aspects of the church. 
She loved to make baby blankets and give them as gifts. She also enjoyed 
bird watching, gardening flowers and vegetables.
She died on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at Southwest Mississippi Regional 
Medical Center.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Polly 
Spring and Phillip and Pam Spring; four grandchildren, Clint Spring, 
Jeff Freeman, Shannon Spring and Carter Spring; five great-grandchildren 
and her sister, Evenly Hilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 loving 
years, Joseph B. Spring; a sister, Alice Faye Steele; and her brother, 
Jack Smith, Jr.
Hartman Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
CARL RONALD "RONNIE" DIAMOND
Nov. 14, 1946-Jan. 15, 2026
Graveside services for Carl Ronald "Ronnie" Diamond, 79, were conducted 
on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026 from Clear Branch Baptist Church.
Born on Nov. 14, 1946 to the late Jim and Virgie Ruth Diamond, he was a 
lifelong member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. His hobbies were racing 
cars, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He 
retired from Deviney Construction and Lincoln County.
He died on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026 at King's Daughters Medical Center in 
Brookhaven.
He is survived by his wife of 58-1/2 years, Doris Annell Luper Diamond; 
his brother, Jimmy Diamond; his grandsons and their respective spouses, 
Casey David and Jennifer McCullough and Cade and Myranda McCullough; his 
great-grandchildren, Harley David McCullough, Cadence Ann-Clark 
McCullough and Felix Rowan McCullough; his son-in-law, David McCullough; 
and friends Norman Branum and Kelby Case.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Vicki McCullough; 
his brother, Ricky Diamond; and his sister, Carolyn Day.
