Stephanie Elizabeth Meaders, 48, of Laurel and formerly of Atlanta, Ga.,
died on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025 at home with her mother.

She was born in Atlanta on July 8, 1977 and graduated from Marist School
in 1995. She attended the University of Georgia until No. 1, 1997, when
she suffered severe injuries from a vehicle accident. She spent the rest
of her life making remarkable progress in her recovery but struggled
with health problems s a result, some of which shortened her life.

Stephanie loved life from an early age. Her "pawpaw" called her the
little mayor of the neighborhood as she patrolled the street on her Big
Wheel and later her bike. She had a multitude of friends and kept up
with many of them throughout her life.

Her friends from elementary school, Marist and UGA, as well as her
church family at Wieuca Road, were cherished lifelong friends.

She loved UGA football, the Atlanta Braves, her hometown of Atlanta and
any music by the Grateful Dead, Phish, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and Janis
Joplin. Her music was a lifeline for her during the long hard days of
her recovery from her accident, as was her faith in Christ.

She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Meaders, and numerous beloved
cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Meaders; and her
grandparents, William and Moncelle Crecink of Meadville and Frances
Meaders of Rome, Ga.

As were her wishes, she was cremated and will be placed in her mother's
family plot in Meadville at a later date. A memorial gathering in
Atlanta will also be conducted at a later date.
