Graveside services and interment for Dorothy Faye Cupit, 82, will be at
10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025 from the family cemetery at Oak
Grove Methodist Church.

Born in Franklin County on Nov. 5, 1942 to Cyrus Henry Cupit and Edith
Coleman Cupit, for many years she lived with her mother in Brookhaven,
where they attended the First Assembly of God Church. Family members
recall Dorothy as being always ready and eager for adventure and social
interaction, and she loved and was loved by many people.

She died on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025 at Meadville Convalescent Home.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Audrey of
Meadville, Bobby and Madonna of Silsbee, Texas and Gerald and Donnis of
Monticello; her sisters-in-law, Doris of Forest and Susie of Eddiceton;
and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Calvin Keith Smith, 70, of Bogue Chitto, were
conducted on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025 from the Chapel of Franklin
Funeral Home, with brother Michael Richardson officiating.

Born on Aug. 16, 1955 in Brookhaven to Calvin Clem Smith and Charlene
Tillman Smith, he enjoyed his work. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and
sitting on his back porch watching his deer. He was a loving husband,
father, grandfather, son and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Donna King Smith; his daughter,
Cassie Smith Dixon; his stepchildren and their respective spouses,
Rachel Manning and Richard Austin and Savannah King; his grandchildren,
Brantley Dixon and their spouses, Dylan and Kelsie Case, Brayden
Williams, Elise Williams and Kaylee and Michael Richardson; his girls,
Maggie Kay and Emmylou; and a host of family and friends.
