FRANCES JOY PRIEST BONDS

April 29, 1931-July 10, 2025

Graveside services for Frances Joy Priest Bonds, 94, of Baker, La., were 
conducted on Saturday, July 11, 2025 from Mt. Carmel Cemetery in 
Franklin County, with Larry Sherman officiating.

Born on April 29, 1931 to Frank Priest and Alyene Stockstill Priest in 
Franklin County, she was a 1950 graduate of Roxie High School. She 
married the love of her life, Gerald Dayton Bonds, Sr., in the high 
school auditorium a few minutes after her high school graduation 
ceremony.

Together, they had three children: Gerald Dayton Bonds, Jr. (Janis), 
Janet Alyene Bonds Sillinger (Gaylord) and Robert Wesley Bonds 
(Beverly).

She was a past member of the Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed 
reading and watching television, with her favorite television show being 
"Touched By An Angel."

She died on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, seven 
great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Also surviving her are 
her sister, Kay Priest Wilkinson; her sister-in-law, Nettie Arthur; a 
special friend, Larry Sherman; and a host of other relatives and 
friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; and her 
brother, Frank Priest, Jr.

Pallbearers were Alex Bonds, Adam Bonds, Steven Bonds, M.L. Bonds and 
William Bonds.

EDITH MARLENE JORDAN ARNOLD

July 8, 1951-July 8, 2025

A Celebration of Life service for Edith Marlene Jordan Arnold, 74, of 
McCall Creek, were conducted on Friday, July 11, 2025 from New Salem 
Baptist Church.

Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Born in Brookhaven on July 8, 1951 to James Leslie Jordan and Gladys 
Evon McManus Jordan, she was a United States Postal worker for 43 years. 
She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

Some of her favorite hobbies included singing and playing the piano, 
working in the yard and tending to her flower garden and playing Bunco 
with her friends.

She died on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in Monticello. She will be missed by 
all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Aubrey Rogers Arnold; her 
son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathryn Arnold; seven 
grandchildren, Mitch Priest, Brad Arnold, Cliff Arnold, Adam Priest, 
Brett Priest, Morgan Arnold and Grayson Arnold; and seven 
great-grandchildren, Alexis Arnold, Bailey Arnold, Abby Arnold, Ava Kate 
Arnold, John Grayson Priest, Braxton Priest and Brody Priest.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Dianne Priest; 
her son, Billy Arnold; and her sister, Sylvia Jordan.

Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
