Coronavirus cases grow by 12

Franklin County saw a rise of 12 new coronavirus cases during the past seven days, according to a new report issued by the Mississippi Department of Health.
The total number of cases reported in the county since the pandemic began in March, 2020, officially reached 1,215 as of Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Thus far, no new deaths connected with the illness have been reported locally, with the total number of fatalities remaining at 28 for the ninth consecutive week.
The county’s last confirmed death connected with COVID-19 was reported during the week ending Saturday, Aug. 28, based on data provided by the health department.
Throughout Mississippi, the cumulative amount of coronavirus cases recorded, as of Tuesday, stood at 505,266.
Across the Magnolia State, 11,297 residents have died due to complications from the virus.
The number of Mississippi residents considered fully inoculated against COVID-19 has officially risen to 1,310,619, or 43 percent of the population, while the number of those who have been partially vaccinated was 1,461,286, or 48 percent.
In Franklin County, an estimated 47 percent of residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 43 percent are now considered to be fully vaccinated.
Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville is still administering COVID-19 vaccinations between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
