Easter season activities set across county

The week leading up to the Easter holiday is filled with activities across Franklin County.

Planned events and gatherings will include:

• Ebenezer United Methodist Church, at 4596 Bogue Chitto Road in the McCall Creek community, is hosting its outdoor, live-action Easter program on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 as well as Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16.

Seating begins at 7 p.m., with the free programs starting at dusk.

Bleacher seating will be available, but spectators can bring lawn chairs. For information, call 601-810-2532, 601-532-6588 or 601-551-2115.

• Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, at 1781 Pleasant Valley Road in Meadville, will hold its “Holy Week” services, and the community is invited to take part.

The programs take place daily from noon until 1 p.m., Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15.

• The Meadville United Methodist Church on First Street will hold a series of “Holy Week” lunch programs from noon until 1 p.m., Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15.

Featured speakers will include the Rev. Will Lott of Bude Church of God on Monday; Brother Tyson Windom of Bude Baptist Church on Tuesday; the Rev. Larry Edwards of Praise Cathedral Church of God on Wednesday; the Rev. Toby Jones of Ebenezer United Methodist Church on Thursday; and Brother Marvin Howard of Mount Zion Baptist Church on Friday.

• Franklin County’s Dixie Daisy Juniorettes will host their “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” program from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Bude.

Admission to the fund-raiser is $12, and the event will feature a petting zoo, face painting, crafts, a spacewalk along with an egg hunt and photos with bunnies.

• A community family Easter Egg hunt will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 16 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds off Wentworth Street in Bude.

Area families are invited to join in this time of fun, food and fellowship.
