Tennis rolls past Magee, 7-0

Franklin County High School’s tennis team claimed a 7-0 road win over Magee on Thursday, March 24.

In singles action, Chris Caraway won his boy’s match by a 6-1 and 6-0 margin while Ali Bolt won 6-0 and 6-1 in girl’s play.

In doubles competition, the No. 1 boys team of Levi Sterling and Gabe Touchstone and the No. 2 team of Carson Laird and Mason Emfinger won 6-0 and 6-0 by forfeit.

The No. 1 girls doubles team of Kayleigh Bolt and Ashlynn O’Quinn won straight-set, 6-0 and 6-0 victories while the No. 2 girls squad of Morgan Laird and Addison Cooper claimed victory by a 6-0 and 6-1 margin.

The mixed doubles team of Rebekah Griffin and Seth Powell won their match by a 6-0 and 6-2 margin.

The FCHS tennis team was slated to face off against West Lincoln on Monday, March 28 and in the district tournament on Tuesday, March 29 at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, but results were not available at press time.

The squad was scheduled to battle on the road against Enterprise on Thursday, March 31.
