Weather prompts FC schools closure, Saint Pat's parade moved to Thursday

The Franklin County School District has announced the cancellation of all classes on Tuesday, March 22 due to the threat of severe weather, including long-track tornadoes, across Southwest Mississippi.
Superintendent of Education Chris Kent said Franklin County schools will be open for classes on Wednesday, March 23.

The Franklin County Lions Club St. Pat’s parade has been moved from Tuesday, March 22 to 5:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 24 in downtown Meadville. Line-up will take place in the circle parking lot at Franklin County High School beginning at 5 p.m.
The parade route will travel up the hill from the high school and then turning west on Main Street at the Armory building and traveling to Walnut Street beside the courthouse and then onto Second Street en route back to the high school.
