The Friends of the Franklin County Public Library has announced plans for its popular “Bingo Night” fund-raiser, which is scheduled for Thursday, March 3.

“Traditionally, this is one of our group’s largest community events and we want to invite people to come out and join us for what promises to be a night of fun,” Friends President Nicole Stokes said.

“This time, the event will be held at the Bude Community Foundation building — the former Bude United Methodist Church — at the intersection of Main Street, Third Street and Mississippi Highway 184.

“Participation is limited to 65 people and refreshments will be served to ticket holders at 5:30 p.m., with games beginning at 6 p.m.”

Admission tickets are $10 each, and include five Bingo cards and refreshments. More Bingo cards will be available for purchase.

Tickets can be purchased at the library on First Street in Meadville.

For additional information, call the library at 601-384-2997.

Stokes said funds from the event will go to support the Friends’ ongoing mission to funds a wide range of improvements and community outreach programs for the local library.

“We do a lot of fund-raisers — from Bingo to bake sales — and the support of the community, in turn, goes right back in to helping our library fulfill its needs in serving our county’s residents,” she continued.

Members of the Friends’ group are asked to bring their donations of door prizes and non-perishable food items to the library by Tuesday, March 1.

The Friends will also hold their regular business meeting at the library beginning at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 1 to finalize plans for the Bingo fund-raiser.
