Area man charged in Roxie area shooting last week

A 51-year-old Franklin County man has been charged with two count of aggravated assault in connection with a shooting incident in the Roxie area last week.

Sheriff Tom Tindle said his agency was notified about the Thursday, Feb. 10 incident and an investigation began immediately into what happened.

“A confrontation occurred sometime between 10 and 11 p.m., and an individual was shot in the arm sustaining non life-threatening injuries,” Tindle went on to say.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department did not identify the victim who was injured.

Taken into custody was Adam Charles Wheeler.

Wheeler was reportedly being held without bond in connection with the case.
