Funeral services for Marie Lewis Dunlap, 94, of Roxie, were held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hamburg with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.

Interment was in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at the Lighthouse Center in Meadville and from noon until the time of service on Sunday, Feb. 6 at the church.

Mrs. Dunlap was born to John Lewis and Maggie Dunbar Lewis in Hamburg on March 8, 1927, and passed away on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Merit Health in Natchez.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her oldest son, Charles Earl Lewis; 13 siblings, Tiny Upton, Alvin Gayden, Olivia Calhoun, Nathaniel Harris, C.O. Jones, Ruby Carter, Quitman Brothers, Ashmore Winfield, David Lewis, J.C. Lewis, Irdell Mayberry, Adell Ditimus and C.W. Lewis.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley Lewis of Hamburg and Helen Hunter of Stampley; five sons, James Lewis and his wife, Pamela, Melvin Lewis and Anthony Lewis, all of Hamburg, Joseph West and his wife, Ethel Mae, of New Orleans, La., and Fred Lewis of Natchez; her sister-In-law, Dorothy Lewis of Saginaw, Mich.,; her brother-in-law; Johnny Lee Mayberry of Natchez; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
