A memorial service for David M. Peeples, 64, of Bude, will be conducted

at a later date.

Born in Arkansas on May 26, 1959 to Sheral Ray Peeples and Joyce Melton

Peeples, he died on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024.

He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Oglesby; two sons, three

grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Ray

Funeral services for Shirley Sterling Watts Toney, 74, of Liberty, were

conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024 from Tower Hill Church of God in

Liberty, with Pastor Vernon Groce officiating.

Interment followed at the Sterling Family Cemetery in Liberty.

Born on July 2, 1949 to the late George Barney Sterling and Mary Odell

Melton Sterling, she was an Elementary School Teacher for 36 years. She

was a devoted Christian and wonderful Sunday School Teacher.

Her hobbies were sewing, jewelry making, taxidermy, sketching and

painting. She raised two wonderful boys, Aaron Watts and wife Tina and

Ashley Watts and wife Christy; a dearly beloved granddaughter, Denea

Watts; and a dearly loved step-granddaughter, Jordan Womack, and

step-grandson, D.J. Meaux.

She died on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 at her home in Liberty.

She is survived by her sons and granddaughters; sisters and

brothers-in-law, Glenda Sterling and Tommy Whittington and Patty

Sterling and Woody Rollins; her husband, Woody; two brothers and

sisters-in-law, Melvin and Peggy Sterling and Kelvin and Paulette

Sterling; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Temple; a

brother, Paul Sterling; and an "adopted in heart" sister, Connie
