Lady Dawgs dominate in 72-33 win over Wilkinson County

The Lady Bulldogs led from start to finish against Wilkinson County in claiming a 72-33 win over the visiting Lady Wildcats on Tuesday, Jan. 25.

FC outgunned Wilkinson by margins of 18-11 in the first period, 14-7 in the second, 18-8 in the third and 22-7 in the fourth.

Four Lady Dawgs finished in double digits where the win was concerned with JaKya Brown pacing the effort with a game-high 20 points while Ja’Sharreah Hunt added 15 (including a pair of treys), Harmoni Porter chipped in 13 and D’Asia Buie recorded 10.

FC’s Niyla Wright pumped in eight points and Rylei Turner contributed six for the Lady Dawgs.

Franklin County was 50 percent from the free throw line in going 8-of-16 with Buie hitting 2-of-2, Brown sinking 3-of-6 and Hunt connecting on 3-of-5.

The Lady Wildcats finished 7-of-13 from the charity stripe in the game.

This marked the second time FC had downed Wilkinson County in district play this season with the Lady Bulldogs claiming a 50-35 win over the same opponent on the road Friday, Jan. 7.
