Funeral services for Julia S. Beard, 58, of Bude, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at Bude First Baptist Church with Tyson Windom and Tom Griffin officiating.
Interment followed in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, and from 1 p.m., until the time of service on Sunday, Jan. 24 at Bude First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Beard was born to Andrew Dalton Smith and Pearl Lee Middleton Smith on Dec. 7, 1963, in Fayetteville, N.C., and passed from this life on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at her residence.
She enjoyed camping, dancing and spending time with her animals.
She enjoyed being a mate to her husband and supporting his volunteering with the fire department.
She loved her work along with the people she worked with and customers she served.
She was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Evelyn Hodges; and her brothers, Edgar Smith and Ty Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Raymond Beard; her sister, Paula Granger, and husband, Bobby, of Vidor, Texas; her brothers-in-law, Robert Beard of Lufkin, Texas, Clifford Beard and wife, Ellie, of Eugene, Ore., DeWayne Pullin of Crawford, Texas, and Lester Proctor Jr., of Salt Lake, Utah; nephews, Kenny Hodges and Benjamin Hodges of Crystal Springs, Baron and B.J. Granger of Beaumont, Texas; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers were Harold Springs, Sam Arnold, Ken Stroud, Timmy Shelton, David Griffin and Sarah Conley.
Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Scott, DeWayne Pullin, Clifford Beard and all first responders and volunteer firefighters.
