An author with Franklin County ties has seen her publication, “ABCs of Love” reach No. 1 on Amazon’s hot new texts in the Early Childhood Education category a mere three weeks following its initial release.

“I am excited and grateful that families are enjoying the book,” Daphne Tillman Perry, a native of Roxie, said of her work, which was made public on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

The paperback publication is retailing for $8.95 per copy through Amazon.

She noted she hopes “ABCs of Love” will inspire children and families to “experience the joy of getting lost inside a book and make learning fun.”

The book follows the character “Zora” as she related to the alphabet through her family, home and the world around her while exploring each letter with her little brother, “Amos.”

Perry, who presently lives in Long Island, N.Y., is a graduate of Alcorn State University and Meharry Medical College, with a degree in chemistry and a master’s in public health, respectively.

She and her husband, Stanfort, have two children — Janna and Chandler.

After 34 years as a healthcare administrator, Perry stepped out on faith and capitalized on her creative energies as a motivational writer and speaker.

While “ABCs of Love” is geared toward children, Perry said she hopes to bring a smile to all who read her work.

When she is not writing, she enjoys reading, listening to music and playing the piano.

In addition to developing stories that teach and make children smile, Perry writes a weekly insightful “Bedside Baptist” message.
