Graveside funeral services for Laverne Scott Cupstid 79, of Vidalia, La., were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez with Brother Brian Monehan officiating.

Affectionately known as “Vernie,” she was born to Jeff and Fay Scott on May 25, 1943, in Meadville and passed away at her residence on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers and their wives, Jerry and Ruth Scott of Meridian and Glen and Virgie Scott of Meadville; and her loving sister-in-law, Mollie Cupstid Swanson, and her husband, Arthur Swanson, of Ferriday, La. 

Survivors include her husband, Edward “Ed” Cupstid; her two sons, Keith and Kurt Dillon of Natchez; her brother, Ronnie Scott of McCall Creek; her granddaughter, Kaitlan Dillon Hamilton of Calhoun, La.; her niece, Patty Scott of Meadville; her step-son, Mark Cupstid of Vidalia, La.; her step-daughter, Leigh Ann Cupstid Remple of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; her step-granddaughter, Courteney Wilburn of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and her two great-grandchildren, Theo and Stevie of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
