Funeral services for Eloise Dykes Brister, 80, of Bogue Chitto, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with Brother Lance Moak officiating.
Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5 and from 9 a.m., until the time of service on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Brookhaven Funeral Home.
She was born to Hance Douglas Dykes and Lela Mae Smith Dykes on Aug. 1, 1941, in Johnston Station, and passed from this life Saturday, October 2, 2021, at home.
Mrs. Brister was a homemaker, loved to cook and always kept a clean house.
She also loved being with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, Barbara S. Brister; her brother, Edward Dykes; and her sisters, Dora Mae Hines, Ruby Causin and Betty Jo Carter.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Kenneth A. Brister; her daughters, Joyce A. Evans and Rebecca L. Moore; her brother, James “Jimmy” Dykes; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
