Funeral services for Katherine Harper, 68, of Bude, were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021, at the First Baptist Church of Bude with Pastor Tyson Windom and Brother Rodney officiating.
Interment followed in Saint James Cemetery in Jefferson County.
Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
She was born to Simpson Hawley and Evelyn Wallace Hawley on April 29, 1953, in Adams County, and passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, in Bude.
Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her parents; a special friend, George Barre; her brother, Bruce Hawley; her sister-in-law, Pam Hawley; and her double first cousins, Jimmy and Larry Hawley.
Survivors include her children, Renea Sester and husband Tom of Ontario, N.Y., Leann Smith of Florida, Clay Smith and wife Melissa of Pearl, Shawnda Jackson and husband Eddie of Franklin County and Ashley Harper and husband Daniel of Pike County; her brothers, Charles Hawley of Florida, James Hawley of Jefferson County, Randy Hawley and wife Beth of Jefferson County and Henry Hawley of Jefferson County; her sister, Paulette Wallace and husband Ray of Lincoln County; her sister-in-law, Tina Hawley of Franklin County; her double first cousins, Tommy Hawley and wife Alice of Franklin County, Mary Smith and husband Ellis of Franklin County, Johnny Hawley of Jefferson County and Millie Thornton and husband Mark of Franklin County; her 20 grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; her special friends, Barbara and Brenda; and her special neighbor, Judy.
The family suggests memorials be made in Mrs. Harper’s name to the animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
